Security Controller
Do you have the defence security expertise and leadership skills to deliver UK GovS 007 compliance in a maritime defence environment?
This is a permanent, site-based leadership role within the Security Team, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at TKMS ATLAS UK in Dorset Innovation Park (Winfrith, Dorchester). The team exists to ensure the business meets its obligations as a defence contractor, protecting people, information, assets and contracts. The role is central to ATLAS UK’s ability to deliver secure maritime capability to customers by enabling compliant delivery across programmes, projects and the supply chain.
This role exists to ensure ATLAS UK can operate securely and compliantly while continuing to grow and deliver in a regulated defence environment. You’ll provide trusted, day-to-day security leadership across the business, balancing operational delivery with strong governance and a risk-based approach.
You will be responsible for:

Leading ATLAS UK’s non-IT security function for the Winfrith site in line with UK GovS 007

Acting as the day-to-day security liaison with external agencies including GSA, DE&S PSyA, UKSV, NCSC, DAIS, WARP and IVCO

Managing the secure handling of protectively marked material up to and including Top Secret

Overseeing personnel security: vetting, inductions, training, awareness, aftercare, and reporting

Managing physical security controls including secure areas, storage, and guard service oversight

Owning the company’s security policies, processes, audits, reporting and incident response (non-IT)

Managing classified information lifecycle: creation, storage, accounting, audit, transmission and destruction

Supporting contract delivery by managing security requirements, including SALs and supply chain flow-down

Overseeing ATLAS UK Crypto holdings in line with JSP 490

Representing ATLAS UK in government and industry security forums and working groups

Line managing the Security Team, including recruitment, performance and development
You will bring:

Strong working knowledge of UK GovS 007 and how it applies to a defence contractor environment

Experience leading a security function covering personnel, physical, information and contract security

Confidence operating as a senior security point of contact with government and external agencies

Ability to interpret and advise on emerging threats, geopolitical developments and defence sector risks

Experience delivering security training and awareness, including inductions and briefings

Experience planning and managing inward and outward international visits

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, develop and motivate a security team

Eligibility to achieve Security Clearance (SC)
