Role Summary
* In this role, you will apply systems engineering principles to develop, integrate, and certify Information Assurance systems and equipment. You will serve as a subject matter expert in security and cryptography, performing requirements decomposition, architecture development, functional analysis, trade-off studies, system synthesis, and evaluation. You will ensure compliance with national security standards and NSA requirements while supporting design, integration, and testing of secure systems. Education & Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required; Master’s degree highly desired.
* Minimum 6 years of experience in Systems Engineering for Information Assurance systems or products.
* U.S. Citizenship required.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate efforts and influence cross-team decisions.
* Comprehensive understanding of the systems engineering process from concept through system test, including Architecture Development, Requirements Allocation & Traceability, Trade-off Studies, System Synthesis, and System Evaluation.
* Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Transmission Layer Security (TLS), and certificate/key management.
* Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
* Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred Skills
* Experience with Key Management Systems, including EKMS and KMI, for End Cryptographic Units (ECUs).
* Proven experience with NSA Approved Type 1 Certified systems or equipment.
* Ability to act as a single Subject Matter Expert for Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography.
* Exceptional security architecture development skills, including making complex design trade-offs.
* Experience negotiating security requirements with NSA Technical Evaluators.
* Familiarity with NSA TSRD, IASRD, and FSDA requirements and processes.
* Experience developing NSA Security Evaluation Document (SED) CDRLs.
* Working knowledge of Type 1, Suite A, Suite B, and Commercial Cryptographic algorithms (symmetric and asymmetric).
* Experience with Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Cybersecurity credentials such as CISSP. Job Duties & Functions
* Perform Concept of Operations development, requirements decomposition/synthesis, and architecture development and analysis.
* Plan and execute security tests in alignment with system requirements.
* Apply cryptography and security expertise throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
* Support design, integration, and testing of Information Assurance systems to meet NSA and national security standards.
* Develop and evaluate system documentation, including SED CDRLs, and ensure compliance with security regulations.
* Provide technical guidance and direction to team members as required.
* Participate in design reviews, trade-off analyses, and risk assessments to ensure system performance and security objectives are met. Physical Requirements & Environment
* Ability to work in an office and laboratory environment.
* Ability to travel domestically as required (up to 10% of the time).
* Standard sedentary work with occasional lifting of light equipment or documents.
* Work in a team-oriented, secure facility environment requiring compliance with classified information handling protocols.
