Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer III at our Lynnwood, WA location. This is an on-site position.

Job Summary:
The Process Engineer III works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to design, develop and implement new technologies and processes in accordance with product specifications, equipment capabilities and regulatory requirements. The Process Engineer III also collaborates closely with Engineering to ensure successful handoff of new products, processes, and materials while providing technical support as needed, maximizes product performance by researching, testing, analyzing and verifying that materials will perform in manufacturing and environment, oversees materials shelf life to support quality metrics, participates in engineering design review and ensures customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and implement new technologies and processes related to product development and/or enhancements to current capabilities
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new materials and technologies for use in the factory, including assessment of replacements for obsolete materials
- Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality
- Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions
- Use appropriate tools (CBS, statistical, DOE, FMEA, etc) to assess, characterize, validate, and qualify new processes and equipment; Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration
- Provide technical and risk assessments on existing equipment and processes, and future developments and enhanced capabilities; Design and direct the testing or control of processing procedures
- Assess, design and develop tooling requirements as related to product build; if appropriate, work closely with machine shop to ensure correct and timely availability of hardware
- Generate technical reports; Document procedures and material specifications
- Evaluate technical specifications and economic factors relating to process or product design objectives
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment related to new technologies or enhancements to current capabilities
- Review new product plans and make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost
- Create or modify related documentation - procedures, work instructions, operational guides - as related to new development and/or process enhancement activities

- Master’s degree in Engineering: Materials or Chemistry
- Aerospace or military materials engineering experience or experience working in a highly regulated industry.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

Salary Range: 118,036 - 137,597 USD Annual
Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
