About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation for a Quality Compliance Engineer to join their Quality team in Newport.
Reporting to the Quality Compliance Manager, this role is focused on protecting customers from non-quality by ensuring products, processes and practices comply with regulatory, customer and internal standards. You will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) across people, processes and projects.
This is a highly collaborative role, working across all business functions and liaising with regulatory authorities and customers where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
- Conduct internal and external audits (process and product)
- Prepare audit checklists and manage audit non-conformities through to closure
- Support customer and regulatory audits to recognised aerospace standards (e.g. AS9100, EASA Part 21, Part 145)
- Manage systems for rejects, containment activities, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions
- Provide periodic reporting on audit performance and quality metrics
- Support coaching and training on quality tools (PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Human Factors)
- Work with process owners to ensure systems and procedures are aligned and effective
- Monitor and support the review of Business Management System documentation
- You will contribute to driving a strong culture of prevention, compliance and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Essential Requirements
- Apprenticeship level qualification (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
- Strong engineering or quality background within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience of quality inspection
- Experience working with both internal and external customers
- Experience engaging with regulatory authorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
Desirable
- AS9100 Assessor qualification
- EASA Part 145, FAA 145 or IRCA Internal Audit qualification
