Planning and Scheduling System Engineer job is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Space/Defense company! In this remote, work from home, telecommute job you will be part of a cross functional team supporting our nations missile defense initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for common ground enterprise (CGE) system architecture, design and requirements for GDMS Mission Unique Software for Mission Planning and Scheduling (P&S) including designing an algorithm for automated scheduling of a 3000 satellite constellation
- Lead system architecture, design, and requirements development for Mission Unique Software supporting Mission Planning (MP) and Planning & Scheduling (P&S) within a Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) environment
- Design and assess automated scheduling algorithms supporting large-scale satellite constellations (up to 3,000 satellites)
- Evaluate and integrate COTS P&S and mission planning tools for spacecraft and ground systems
- Perform P&S trade studies, including evaluation of scheduling algorithms and open-source automation frameworks
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to mission planning and scheduling workflows
Qualifications:
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or STEM and 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Masters degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Experience with P&S product trade space including scheduling algorithms and open source projects available to automate manual tasks
- System Design experience including Mission Planning (MP) and P&S algorithms related to communication schedule optimization, orbital maneuver planning automation, software rollout planning and execution automation
- COTS tool experience with spacecraft and ground P&S software products
- MBSE experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Space-Ground and Ground-Antenna ICD creation, design of Common Ground Enterprise COTS-based C2 System
- Space command operational experience
- COTS experience with InfluxDB, Kafka, Redis, Postgres, MongoDB, Kubernetes, microservice architecture, cloud (AWS, RHOSP)
- Lab or operational P&S integration experience working side by side with the integration test team
