The role reports to the Quality Manager, who is responsible to maintain Quality and Conformity in a complex manufacturing facility.

The position is based at our Halifax (Enfield) location, full time (40h per week) and on-site with flexibility is typical, however, depending on the position, shift 11.5 hrs "day" may be required. 

 What will your day-to-day look like?

The MR Investigator maintains the highest standards of quality through rigorous testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Quality Specialists are instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction and driving operational efficiency by minimizing defects and variations in products or services.

The MR Investigator is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ensure product integrity and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance, communication and awareness of quality requirements in the aeronautical field.
  • Identify, submit and implement quality system improvement needs.
  •  Respond to non-conformance notifications (QN), assessing part condition, and determining the appropriate disposition (use-as-is, repair, scrap, deviation, etc.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, engineering, production) to resolve quality issues and prevent future occurrences.
  • Coordinate, communicate with the different groups (planning, engineering,) and facilitate the non-conformity management process OR Collaborate with production teams to identify quality issues and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in quality clinics for product improvement and document outcomes.
  • Perform visual inspections by handling appropriate measuring instruments. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address quality problems.
  • Act as a quality technical reference in complex situations requiring judgment, analysis, and decision-making

What do you need to be successful?

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., business, engineering, science), Diploma in an engineering discipline, Journeyman machinist, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 3 Years (minimum) experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite IE: Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy in auditing and documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings

Assets:

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD software, Catia V5.
  • Experience in Quality Review - QR or Planning.
  • Technical expertise and knowledge of the manufacture of aerospace parts.
  • Experience with reading Blueprints and geometric tolerances
  • Knowledge of problem solving processes (ex. Dive / DAISE/ RCCA).
  • Experience in quality control and the use of measurement instruments.
  • Knowledge of SAP, PLM, AS9102.
