Morson are exclusively recruiting for a Materials Controller (logistics/spares) for a leading aerospace parts manufacturers based on the outskirts of Gloucester and Cheltenham.
This role is initially for 3 months although highly likely to be long-term / temporary to permanent.
Pay rates/hours
15.50 per hour PAYE plus 2.25 per hour Holiday pay /20.60 umbrella (please enquire) / 37 hours per week/ highly likely to recieve overtime weekly at time and a half)
Flexible start times available, half day finish fridays.
Role duties:
Working within the Spares Logistics team, to support Inspection/despatch team
on daily manual activity
• Move receiving (from OE logistics) parts to upper level for processing – using the lift and/or
crane as necessary
• Manage & sort deliveries from OE logistics – breakdown & sort identified priorities (lead time
critical – daily KPI)
• Support lead time reduction
• Support Inspection team in packing activity
• Consolidate & pack shipments
• Move processed shipments to lower bay for collection as necessary
• Cover receiving bay & handover of shipments to Customer agents/couriers and manage
white board
• Manage incoming RMA receipts & support processing
• Support keeping area clean & tidy – preparation for monthly FOD critical audits
Experience required
- Proficient in the use of SAP OR SIMILAR ERP/MRP SYSTEMS as training provided– minimum knowledge of order picking & shippin
- Proficient in the use of office systems – Outlook, word & Excel
- Previous use of a forklift (refresher/training can be provided)
- Literacy & numeric aptitude is essential i.e. able to recognise part numbers, read packing
- specifications and calculate quantities
- A team player who can develop a strong rapport with individuals
- Must be a good communicator, flexible and adaptive in approach
- Should be resilient and tenacious in style and approach – process accuracy is crucial
- Target achievement and results orientated – must be Customer focused

- Able to work without supervision
- Sound understanding of Health and Safety i.e. Manual Handling
