Lead all aspects of approximately 150 employees including the ORD SOC and Move Team. Primary responsibility for operational control and performance, data analysis, track and trending for all operational areas of the station. Lead cross functional communication and support of operational initiatives. Develop and/or implement various short- and long-term projects. Participate in the design and drive implementation of all projects that have impact to our customers and co-workers. Work closely with Corporate Real Estate, Facility Maintenance and Finance to improve the overall operation at ORD and increase revenue and profitability of the Hub. Continue to drive and improve Safety culture at ORD, take a leading role in engaging with local agencies, FAA, CDA (Chicago Dept of Aviation) and the ORD Airline Community to ensure overall fairness to United Airlines. Liaison with all stakeholders & counterparts to improve performance during IRROP events and Severe Weather Action Plans to drive improved D-0 performance through engagement & aid in LTD prevention and mitigation. Continue to build on the high degree of trust that United has established with all Federal, State and Local authorities. Take a leading role with peers to drive core4 culture with continuous engagement with all co-workers, SOC and frontline Move Team employees. This is an onsite role in Chicago at ORD.
Station Operational Performance
Collateral responsibility to drive metrics: (Customer D-00, STAR, Intl, MST, Contribution A-00 and AO Delay)
ALL Station Goals including but not limited to all AO division/station goals
Drive continuous improvement for the station
Take a leading role in all items outlined in the overview section
Ensures Performance metrics achievement, through tracking, reporting, and analysis
Primary responsibility for Cross-Divisional Operational Communication
Primary Liaison for all UAX partner carriers, locally, their respective OCC’s and CSC Responsible for management of SOC policies/programs and goal achievement,
Primary operational liaison with NOC, Network, Scheduling and Airport community
Ensures safe/efficient application of Station Gate /Schedule Planning
Station Safety & Security
Ensures Aircraft Damage & LTI goal achievement
Contributes to Station Safety Plan Achievement (Ensure Safety Culture)
Participates Cross Divisional Safety Committee and division SAT’s (Safety & Accident Review Boards meeting actions)
SOC Oversight of Accident Investigation and reporting responsibility (ERS, Emergency Response, etc)
Primary Responsibility for Security Plan development and execution (AOSSP, GSC, and Oversight)
Leads UA Operations managers, Gate Managers, Zone Managers and direct reports.
Responsible for Station Emergency Procedures & coordination of Business Continuity Plans
Collateral oversight of Airport Authority, TSA, FAA Security programs
Serves as Government agency liaison for UAL at ORD (TSA, CBP, FAA and PAPD)
Collateral responsibility for ORD Real estate (aircraft parking) / leasehold optimization - Corp Real estate/Optimization

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
8+ years of relevant work experience required
Minimum 2 - 4 years of strong leadership experience in an Airline Operations Environment required
1+ years’ hub operational experience required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Solid understanding of Hub operations which include customer service, ramp operations and intuition for business preferred

Must have the ability to work weekends
Some travel is required
Must reside locally to ORD
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
