Job Description:

Description:The Director, Corporate Accounting will lead and evolve the corporations consolidation, reporting and general-ledger functions while driving enterprise-wide finance transformation. This leader will own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, produce U.S. GAAP-compliant reporting packages, maintain effective internal controls, lead multi-entity change management programs and build a high-performing team that partners across the business.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Finance Transformation
• Champion implementation of the new corporate ERP system, consolidation application, and broader finance transformation initiatives (ERP/EPM migrations, automation, system/process redesign, data architecture).
• Design and execute change management plans for new reporting standards, system upgrades, and enterprise wide finance initiatives (Prosci/ADKAR or similar).
• Own large scale finance transformation projects (ERP upgrades, automation initiatives, chart of accounts redesigns) from planning through post implementation adoption.
• Develop a change management playbook for finance wide projects and partner with IT, Operations, and external auditors to ensure seamless rollout.

Close & Reporting Process
• Lead the end to end corporate consolidation process (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ensure accurate close cycles.
• Prepare, review, and publish external filings (Form 10 K/10 Q) and internal financial reporting packages.
• Generate executive level insights for senior leadership and quarterly earnings releases; translate transformation outcomes into clear business impact.
• Partner with business-unit finance teams on U.S. GAAP accounting issues, offering technical guidance and, at the same time, helping ensure that any new processes are adopted consistency across the enterprise.

Internal Controls & Governance
• Design, implement, and maintain controls over systems, data, and processes; ensure SOX compliance, audit readiness, and ongoing governance of transformation initiatives.
• Lead cross functional workstreams to implement new accounting standards and maintain control effectiveness.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Provide strategic direction and influence senior stakeholders across finance, operations, and technology functions.
• Lead and influence mid level managers; communicate complex financial information through strong presentations and written reports.

Team Development
• Coach and develop finance leaders within the Corporate Accounting team: set department and individual goals, conduct performance reviews, deliver ongoing training, and create succession plans.
• Build a high performing, collaborative team culture that drives continuous improvement and accountability.

Candidates should expect to travel 30-40 to corporate headquarters located in Bethesda, MD and other Lockheed Martin global sites.

Basic Qualifications:
- Seasoned executive with extensive experience leading corporate consolidation and reporting functions in a multi-entity public company and proven track record of delivering large-scale finance transformation initiatives
- Active CPA license and Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance (or related field)
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX controls.
- Proven ability to lead and develop mid-level managers and influence senior stakeholders across the enterprise
- Effective presentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to prioritize and drive projects to completion and deliver measurable results
Desired Skills:
-Hands-on experience delivering SAP, Khalix or Oracle EPM system conversion/upgrades
- Advanced Excel (Power Query, macros, pivot tables) and data-visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Track record of process automation, continuous-improvement, and change management execution
-Big 4 audit exposure and corporate accounting experience at a large public entity
- Strong collaborator across multi-discipline functions (ie. finance, operations, and technology).

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $309,120. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
