What You Will Do:
PDC Automation manager will be responsible for the project management of on-going Automation initiatives within the PDC across all product lines and delivery centers. They will be require technical knowledge of assembly processes as well as robotics and automation solutions
The candidate must demonstrate interpersonal and team skills, strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements. Additionally, we’ll be looking for individuals with strong business acumen, willingness to implement and drive lean manufacturing techniques, and the ability to develop and insert new technologies into the production assembly process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as technical lead or work package owner for cross-functional projects involving new process introduction, equipment installation, and automation integration
- Define and execute the roadmap for manufacturing process technology—assessing emerging trends, leading proof-of-concept initiatives, and engaging with equipment suppliers and integrators.
- Work with Process Engineering and Operation to understand and resolve issues through work instructions, standard work.
- Document issues and resolutions as well as supporting recovery of faults for existing automations.
- Promote the use of data driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support investigations
- Support all EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives (PRA, Work-Fit, Ergo) by driving safe processes across production product lines.
- Develop, plan, & implement capital requirements to support productivity improvements, technology insertion and capacity for future programs.
- Drive product cost reduction and ensure War on Cost targets are achieved through process improvements and deployment of new technologies .
- Support CORE activities as required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
- Technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities
- Experience motivating, influencing, collaborating and gaining cooperation and action from others
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with ability to use Minitab and other statistical software; proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Fanuc Robotics experience
- Machine vision experience
- Gas Turbine Manufacturing/Support experience, ideally within the NGPF engine family
- LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.
- Experience with TeamCenter, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES or similar Engine Maintenance System.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
