This Quality Control Inspection Supervisor position is onsite at our Marana and Tucson locations and will work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

The Quality Control Inspection Supervisor will lead functions assigned in the performance of aircraft quality control inspection to ensure airworthiness of an aircraft.

What you will do:

Essential Job Functions:

· Researches technical data; performs aircraft inspection, flightline operations and shop work in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals, FAA regulations and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures.

· Inspects parts and materials purchased for use in maintaining, modifying and configuration of aircraft and equipment to ensure that quality, allowable tolerances, and other specifications and standards set by the company and the applicable manufacturer are met.

· Records all inspection data on forms, reports and inspection tags and brings to the attention of the Lead Inspector any irregularities in the standard practice used that would cause injury to personnel or make the aircraft unsafe.

· Ensure that all maintenance records are completely and accurately completed.

· Ensure that RIIs are properly identified on all work cards in accordance with customer identified requirements.

· Ensures that all Work-In-Progress Conformity Records are properly documented as to work performed for that shift assigned.

· Performs receiving inspection activities when / as required.

· Tests tightness of airframe connections with hand tools and utilizes flashlight and mirror to inspect fit of parts.

· Examines assembly, installation, and adjustment of ailerons and rudders to ensure that workmanship and materials conforms to accepted and approved data and regulatory requirements.

· Determines accuracy of installation of components in power plant and hydraulic system using protractor, micrometer, calipers, and gauges to ensure that specified tolerances are met.

· Signs inspection tag to approve unit, or records reasons for rejecting unit.

· Ensures the complete and accurate completion of all forms, reports, and records (i.e., FAA form 337, FAA form 8130-3, SDR, etc.)

· Enforce Safety and Quality policies and requirements

Marginal Job Functions:

· Performs facility audits for safety and policy compliance.

· Coordinates with customer representatives.

· Assume the duties of Chief Inspector or Lead Inspector in his/her absence.

· Assist the Chief Inspector with training and development of Receiving Inspectors, Aircraft Inspectors, and NDT Inspectors.

· Ensures that proper documentation is made on training record for training received, and signed by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.

· Performs maintenance duties away from base on temporary duty.

· Performs maintenance work such as repair and maintenance of company equipment and shop housecleaning.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Aircraft Inspections
  • A&P License and valid license required
  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write & understand the English language
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent; Post Secondary education or training in aircraft maintenance or equivalent combination of education, training or experience required.
  • Skills in the use of computer systems, maintenance manuals, documentation systems and the Federal Aviation Regulations are required.

· Manager & Supervisors with the overall responsibility for the financial, safety, quality and employee performance of their operation is the person who ensures Ascent Aviation’s policies and procedures are complied with and ensures Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances and rules are equally enforced and adhered to.

· The Managers / Supervisors will be responsible to ensure that all required routine performance audits are complied with and are conducted and reported within the specified timeframe. The Managers/Supervisors/Leads shall ensure all corrective action is complied with and maintained in accordance with the agreed plan.

Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, and reaching above shoulder level. Requires occasional crawling, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. Requires frequent lifting, carrying pushing, or pulling weight up to 10 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Location:Aircraft maintenance hangar, flightline, and Avionics Shop.

Potential Hazards:Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, electrical charges and radar waves, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working around moving machinery.

Protective Equipment Required:Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, aprons, gloves, safety harnesses, breathing equipment.
