About the Role & Your ImpactAs a Mechanical Manufacturing Technician, you’ll play an essential role in preparing and assembling components that contribute to critical aerospace systems. This entry-level position offers hands-on training in calibration-specific operations and production processes under the supervision of certified calibrators and experienced technicians.
Your work will directly support product quality, safety, and performance—ensuring components meet strict aerospace standards and FAA regulations.
Location: West Des Moines (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6 Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour + $1.00/hour 2nd shift differential
Note: This is a safety-sensitive position in accordance with FAA guidelines (subject to drug and alcohol testing per 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40).
What You’ll DoIn this hands-on role, you will:
Follow blueprints, diagrams, and guidelines to meet product specifications and tolerance levels
Prepare and assemble components into final or sub-assemblies under direct supervision
Set up and operate production equipment to ensure flow, spray angle, and quality meet standards
Perform troubleshooting, calibrations, and modifications of hardware, fixtures, and software
Use measuring and diagnostic tools—including mechanical, optical, computer-based, and laser equipment
Maintain detailed production records and accurately log time changes, test data, and parts usage
Rework and repair mechanical and electromechanical systems as needed
Provide technical feedback and solutions to engineering teams
Support EHS, Quality, and Continuous Improvement standards
Assist with prototypes and component design when needed
Learn multiple skills and work toward certification
Collaborate with leads, supervisors, and engineers to resolve issues
This role provides structured training and exposure to multiple technical disciplines within a highly regulated aerospace environment.
Required QualificationsEntry-level; no certification required
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn calibration-specific operations
Ability to follow standard work instructions under general supervision
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to work 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Ability to work extended shifts or overtime as required
Ability to meet FAA safety-sensitive position requirements
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience reading blueprints or technical diagrams
Familiarity with measuring tools and diagnostic equipment
Prior manufacturing or assembly experience
Basic computer skills
Strong troubleshooting ability

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
